The Zoological Society of London is an international wildlife conservation organization based in London. ZSL’s Indonesian programme is a small but rapidly expanding operation based in Bogor with field projects in Sumatra and Kalimantan. ZSL Indonesia is now looking for a qualified and committed candidate to fill the position of Project Manager for a new project to be set up in South Sumatra province. The project will focus on working with Department of Forestry partners and locally based companies and communities to conserve a tiger population that exists inside and outside conservation areas. The position would best suit an Indonesian national. Minimum requirements:
- Education to S2 level or equivilent experience in a relevant subject
- A committed but pragmatic approach to environmental conservation
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
- Good communication skills, ideally with experience dealing with commercial partners
- Experience in leading a team
Desirable atributes:
- Prepared to spend significant periods of time in the field
- Fundraising experience
- English language skills
- Computer skills, especially GIS and/or biological statistical analysis
- Prepared to live permanently, or spend the majority of time, in South Sumatra
- Ability to drive
